gain clarity about the negative emotions you feel (possibly
affecting your behaviour) and an understanding of why you
feel what you feel. You can often then alter distorted thinking

way you feel. Importantly, you learn that you cannot change
other people - the only person you should be aiming to control
is you. The often can put a different perspective
on what's happening. Talking things through usually
makes it clearer about what you want to do with your issue.
