Issues - Going Home
If you thought
moving abroad was stressful, then prepare for returning
home. You and your family have changed, seen
sights and eaten foods that no one else at home
can even imagine - and so are unlikely to ask about!
Your old friends will be busy doing other things,
the children's school friends will have moved
on, and you may be living close again to your parents
and siblings who have not been part of your life
for many years.
Prepare
for the homecoming...
Plan ahead.
Prepare for the changes. counseling can assist
you to be ready for the weird emotions associated
with settling back home, where you are just an ordinary
person again, but one who doesn't necessarily slot
back in. Brush up on communication skills
so that old negative patterns of behaviour with
family members are not re-established as soon as
you arrive back home.
